FEES + PAYMENTS POLICY

Sellers may be charged for using some of OppSpot’s services. This Fees & Payments Policy explains your fees and taxes and how to pay them.

This policy is a part of our Terms and Conditions. By opening an OppSpot shop, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms and Conditions.

  1. Types of Fees
  2. Fee Avoidance
  3. Taxes
  4. Other Governmental Fees, Charges and Levies

1. Types of Fees

Sellers may be required to pay the following types of fees. Please note that all fees are listed exclusive of GST or similar taxes that may apply. See the Taxes section below for further details. It's important to note that all service fees are non-refundable.

Listing Fees

We do not charge listing fees on OppSpot. It’s free to list as many products as you like - go nuts! We will, however, remove duplicate listings, or listings that have had no activity for 120 days or more.

Transaction Fees

When you make a sale through OppSpot, you will be charged a transaction fee of 2% of the price you display for each listing as well as the shipping price. You will also be charged Stripe payment fees which are set by Stripe. As of March 2023, these fees are 1.75% + $0.30 AUD for domestic cards and 2.9% + $0.30 AUD for international cards. For more information on Stripe fees click here.

The transaction fee will apply to the listing price (which should include any applicable taxes that you as a seller are responsible for) and the postage price. See the Taxes section below for more information about whether you are required to include applicable taxes in your listing prices. Transaction fees are automatically processed during point of purchase.

Delivery Fees

Delivery fees are set by the seller in the Marketplace Shipping section of the OppSpot seller hub. They are set by state, and can be calculated within a range set by you that determines the shipping cost based on the weight of each item.

2. Fee Avoidance

Any action by a seller to avoid paying a fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited by OppSpot. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your OppSpot shop through another venue. A transaction initiated on OppSpot may not be completed off of OppSpot. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not alter the item's price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding OppSpot transaction fees, misrepresent the item’s location, or use another user's account without permission.

3. Taxes

Aside from the limited circumstances set out below, you are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through OppSpot’s services.

For purposes of these Terms, please note that while some countries may refer to GST using other terms, e.g., Value Added Tax ("VAT") or Harmonised Sales Tax ("HST"), we'll just refer to GST, VAT, HST and any local sales taxes collectively as "GST" unless the context requires otherwise.

Goods and services tax (GST) is a tax of 10% on most goods, services and other items sold or consumed in Australia. If your business is registered for GST, you have to collect this extra money and pay it to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

OppSpot does not collect or pay GST for you, or on your behalf, in any form. You are required to pay any GST or other taxes owing to the Australian Tax Office or the applicable authority in your country.

4. Marketplace Reporting of Seller Information

Where legally required, OppSpot will report your personal details and details of your transactions to relevant governmental authorities.

OppSpot will not disclose any personal information to any third parties unless legally required to do so.
